Hope you can help me with this simple questions, as im a newbie to linux i need your help! I'm using Mandrake 9.1 (afaik) with KDE 3.1.
1. How do i change the refresh rate of my display? 60hz is very annoying
2. When moved slowly, the mouse pointer becomes very sluggish and jumpy, any ideas?
3. Whats a good MSN messenger alternative under linux?
Distribution: Mac OS X Leopard 10.6.2, Windows 2003 Server/Vista/7/XP/2000/NT/98, Ubuntux64, CentOS4.8/5.4

thanks.
1. You can change your refresh rate via the Mandrake Control Center under hardware--> monitor?
2. you can also change your mouse speed/pointer via the "Start" button (The big "K" in the lower left corner)
I don't remember exactly where as I am at work using Windows 2000. Let us know if you can't find it.
In regards to item #3, GAIM (rel. 0.71 and above) is indeed, as mentioned above, a very good and flexible product for messenger services.
However, if you are looking for a MSN messenger look alike type of product, then AMSN (rel. 0.83 and above) would be a good alternative. It is a MSN messenger clone for linux... Just do a search on the word AMSN.
