Issue with Mandrake and Window managers?
I'm trying to have a few programs execute right after a window manager starts up but unfortunately this is not working (it doesn't matter if I use KDE or Enlightenment).
I thought having a .xsession, or a .xinitrc would do this, but for me nothing (.xsession-errors is nothing but a blank file). I then put some lines in /etc/X11/Xsession (b/c /etc/X11/kdm/Xsession points there) but that doesn't seem to be executed either. Any ideas what is going on. Does mandrake slip something in that is unusual that I am supposed to m odify? Thanks for any help provided. EDIT: mandrake 9.1 being used. |
there might be a menu you have to set up somehow.. with fluxbox at least you have to edit the file .fluxbox/menu. haven't really checked with enlightenment or KDE though. what programs are you trying to run?

Thanks im checking into the menu (which is weird though, why would they consider it something related to a menu when all it is is automatic program startup). The programs are self-written programs.
