Is there a memory leak in Mandrake?

I recently installed Mandrake 9.0 on a laptop. If I play, for example, 15/20 minutes with Bounching Ball game, system just freeze. No way to go ahead but switching off the computer. Same occurs with several others applications: too many to be just the application themselves. It looks like a memory leak. Is it?

Sounds more like a hardware problem - bad RAM, perhaps, or some kind of power supply problem, especially if it freezes up at random, regardless of what you're doing at the time.

Have you checked /var/log/messages? Take a look at what it says.

Oh, and it does sound like a hardware problem. I suffered like that due to a F***ing hard drive. If it's the hard drivem try mounting synchronously.

You're welcome.

Thank's

Thank you everybody for help. I'll look at message log and check for power supply saving options. In case I will not fix this, I'll upgrade to 9.2 to see if something change. Laptops are always a problem unless you use a pre-installed operating system.
