... um: intel 925
platform? AFAIK there is no Core 2 Duo 925... but there is a Pentium D 925?

I am presently using dual booting system with Windows XP Pro 64bit and Fedora core5 32bit.
However, when I am trying to install Mandriva 2007 spring 32 or 64bit os: it is not detecting the ide drive on which my existing os is installed. It is detecting only the sata harddisk as sda, but the ide harddisk goes undetected.

Are you saying that only one HDD is detected?
Usually the primary master IDE HDD would be sda. Check the filesystem reported.

I have tried to disable sata native support from setup of the mobo, but is of no use.
How can I dual boot Mandriva with Windows XP as Mandriva is the best linux system available today?

... oops: cue distro wars!

Please help. If Fedora core5 32bit can be installed, I don't know what is wrong with Mandriva? Also, same condition persists with Fedora core6,7 or other latest linux distros. However, Red Hat Enterprise 4 is installing and dual booting fine.

The sata position is definitely enabled then?
If this is a brand computer, please tell what it is. Otherwise please tell the mobo.
I would like to see the result of fdisk -l from your working linux installation.
