Have been trying to install mandrive and even tried live but I keep getting the same message out of frequency range . I have a hp computer with windows xp pro , but I would like to install mandriva as a dual boot but unable to install it or use live, have a three hundred gig hd, but what I really would like to do is to have about two or three linux systems on the same hd each having 100 or 75 gigs set up for each operating system 1 for mandriva,2 foresight and either zenwalk ,suse ,sabayon or ubuntu 7.04.

back in 99/2000 I tried to install mandrake a number of time before I did but that was on a smaller hd at the time (10)gig

... this is normally a monitor error - it refers to the monitor frequencies. It usually happens after the install, in which case it is a matter of starting in rescue (text only) mode and editing /etc/X11/xorg.conf to have the right vertical refresh and horizontal sync entries.

If this happens after hitting enter at the boot: prompt, then you should try installing in text mode. If you never see the boot: prompt, it is unlikely you will get Mandriva installed at all - try a different distro.
