This is a USB ADSL modem.

... OK, sagem claim linux support on their web page. However, when I try to find the driver download page I get "Template file /bandeau_philips.html not found" instead.

So I am gonna have to ask you where you got the driver(s) and what form they came in (rpm, tar.gz what?)

If it is .tar.gz, unpack it and look for a file called "README". There may also be one called "install.txt" or similar. There are normally instructions in there.

I got the driver from the sagem's website. but i was using microsoft windows, not linux. i downloaded, i put it in my flash stick and i transfered it into linux system. yes it's in tar.gz form, i'll have a look at readme.txt or install.txt

thanx!

While you are doing that, with the modem plugged in, type lsusb and post the output. Also, look through dmesg output for anything that looks like a message about your modem. (It is possible that your modem will work out of the box.)
