Incorrect time

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Hi,

Ever since daylight saving i've never managed to get my time right...

if i manually set the correct time in the bios then mandrake adds about 13 hours to it... If i change the time in mandrake then it makes the bios time wrong so my power on play music alarm clock doesn't work.

is there any way to tell it to just use the time in the bios?

urpmi the ntp package

e.g.

urpmi ntp

You DO have your sources set up, right?

See: http://www.zebulon.org.uk/

Sheez, this should be my tag line... heh.

and

urpmi wizards

now go into the wizards in the MCC and configure your machine as a TIME SERVER.

This will give you the opportunity to select the time sync server it will connect to, as well as adjust how the time is kept vis-a-vis the bios.
