Icon Themes

How do I install icon themes?

I downloaded some icons from www.kde-look.org
The instructions says to go to Configuration->Look N' Feel->Icons

I go into that menu and try to install a new icon theme but everytime I click on the "icon theme" file, index.desktop, it keeps saying "invalid icon theme" or something like that. So how do I change all the icons WITHOUT having to do it one-by-one?

I assume that you uncompressed the file you've downloaded, right? well... don't do that, just browse from >look and feel>icons>import theme to the *tar.gz file that contain the icons and enjoy!!
Hope this helps =)
