Hi all, Years ago I purchased a Mandrake 8.1 box set and I accidently broke disk one of the set. I have searched all over the wen http and ftp sites and have had no luck finding a replacement disk. Would any one happen to have an ISO sitting on their private FTP or http site that I could download? The oldest ISOs I have been able to find are Mandrake 8.2. Which I do already have a copy of. Fortunantly all my source disks are okay but I would sure hate to try and rebuild it from source.
Mandrake 8.1 is from 2001 - do you really want to actually use it to install from now? Or is it just for the completeness of your collection?
My oldest (and only) copy is Mandrake 9.2 - and now that I know I still have it - I will throw it away...
I do still use is on occation to trouble shoot problems with older systems. Also sence I purchased the mega pack at the time it has a huge asortment of software I can't seem to find replacements for thesedays.
Thank you aus9 I appriciate you effort. I too was only able to find the 64bit version in ISO forum. I did find a directory of the files needed for it but I am not sure as I can figure out how just build the one disk and have it bootable. If all else fails I guess I will try downloading the directory I found and see if I can figure out how to make it a bootable ISO.
The Pennsylvania State University seems to have Mandrake 8.2 iso image files available for download. Unless I do not correctly understand, the three files you want to download and burn to CD are DLE-82EN.iso, DLE-82EN02.iso, and DLE-82EN03.iso.
I understand that you wanted Mandrake 8.1, but the 8.2 version is the closest I have been able to find. The additional software from your 8.1 CD's should work correctly when run under the 8.2 version if that is of any help.

Hi Absent Minded Mandrake 8.1 was my first Linux distribution and I still have all 3 CD's and the installation and user manual. I have a website but haven't ventured in to setting up FTP transfers or putting ISO's on the site yet but if you email me at bixco at comcast dot net with your address I will burn a copy and send it to you.
