I've lost my desktop!

I accidentally hit some random keys - and now I've lost my desktop (Mandriva PWP 2010, KDE).

Specifically, my desktop is just the default Mandriva PWP screen, with the flowing swirls. I don't see the files in my /Desktop folder - though the folder still exists.

How do I get Mandriva to show my desktop as my Desktop folder?

I think you may be logging into another account, different from the one that you originally setup. Have you tried to log out and log back in to the same user name that you used originally?

Each desktop is specific to a user's settings, after all.

Good luck.

Code:

echo ~
ls -la /home

will show you your logged-in home directory and all the home directories that exist.

I hope it's as simple as being in a different user account ...

Thanks. I'm definitely logged into the right account.

There must be a setting in KDE somewhere that says 'this is the folder to display as desktop'.
