howto autostart an app when it crashs or killed

i am running mandriva 2006 and running something like a web based server with a certain application not a service
and the application sometimes crash or killed
how can i monitor this application and autostart it if killed

this little trick might do it. Run the application through this shell script:
while true
    <command> <options>

it script keep running the program with non stop

also i have tried procautostart and the same apprantly they all see it dead

any sugestions

You can try Dan Berstein's daemontools. There is no Mandriva package for it AFAICT but it shouldn't be too hard to build from source:

A better solution though would be to find out why it keeps crashing and stop it from doing that
