How to install ESET NOD32 in Mandriva 2011

If you try and install NOD32 as a user, it always comes up with all sorts of errors. Installing as root works fine, but then you can't update.

Do the following:
1. Download eset nod32 for linux from their site.
2. Install as root. (Not sudo, it won't work)
3. Go to /etc/opt/teamviewer/teamviewer/6/bin/teamviewer
4. edit the esets.cfg file:

Here change this line privileged_users = "root"
with your desktop username.

Add these lines:
av_update_username = "your_eset_name"
av_update_password = "your_eset_password"

Restart your pc and it will download your updates and work correctly.

Thanks for posting. If your procedure is not explained in the vendors documentation then you should tell them.
