How to connect to internet from Mandrake 10 ???

I just installed mandrake 10.0 and i have an adsl at home which is using pppoe connection or whatever. i made all the set ups from gnomes control center but i couldnt find the dialup program.

i installed the kppp from the cd but its very complicated and there is no set p for adsl s i think.

pls help.

try using adsl-setup.

ADSL (which is broad band and dialup are different.) Therefore KPPP being a dialup program can't be used with adsl.

Try using the "new connection wizard" under "network and internet" in the Mandrake control centre.

i tried but after that step how can i connect. there is no option to connect.

it says connect after boot up or something like this but it doesnt work.

i have an adsl modem and i connect through ethernet card. nothing between computer and the modem.

try unchecking hotplug on the network configuration

reboot computer

try "adsl-start" in a console.
This problem is most unusual. I have the exact same set up and everything is fine.

You could also try to type "I" (capital i) during boot (be quick !) : that will put you in interactive mode. Then just type
"y" for yes or "n" for no when shown the services to be launched.

ok i tried from the control panel again and made a restart and it worked and i dont know how.

i tried that adsl-start command also. it tries but always says timed out.
