How to change monitor refresh rate?

How do I change the monitor refresh rate in Mandrake 9.1?

I have a Voodoo 3 card, and IBM G74 monitor (I know, not quite state of the art!).

A GUI method would be nice.....

You didn't install the developmental packages? As root, command:
urpmi gcc

Did that, no option to change the refresh rate. Only resolution and color depth.

Example:

1280x1024
16 million colors (24 bits)

I need to change the refresh rate (hz)
1280x1024 @ 60hz
or
1280x1024 @ 85hz

Hand edit the file /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file and change the info in the Section "Monitor". Make a backup incase you mess up and restartx.
