how do you get updates to work?

pardon my ignorance,...

i just installed the 2007 free mona dvd

how does one go about setting this up to do updates, or how about a manual update?

i see to be running into a prblem where in order to get updates i have to pay and get an activation key or something.

i think i found the manual option under "configure your computer" however,
when i try to add a site to update from, no matter what site i choose, i get this error message...:

Unable to add medium, errors reported:

...retrieving failed: curl failed: exited with 9 or signal 0

unable to access first installation medium (no hdlists file found)

is there another way to update mandriva?
or how do i get it to work?

many thanks..
Harold

Google easy-urpmi.

Then when you have picked a site, just follow the directions.

There may not be much available yet, since it's so new.

This article mentions the new Mandriva package manager. I think urpmi may be headed for history.

It's probably a trifle soon to be thinking of updating. The final version is about to be released to "early seeders".

BTW, what is Mona?
