How do I set my mouse to single click mode?
 

I recently installed Spring 2009 in a new-to-me Gateway M3018 laptop, and I have a couple of mouse questions:

I should note I am NOT using the onboard finger-pointing device on the keyboard for most occasions, but I do want to be able to use it while in my car or something. But if I am using it on a table-top, I use a mini USB two-finger scrolling mouse, and that is where I am having the problem.

The computer configuration screen only shows the keyboard touch pad for a mouse. I can't figure out where to go on the menu to change the USB mouse to single-click.

Also, I MUST be able to disable the touch pad while using the other mouse. On my old Dell Latitude CPiA, I used a PS/2 mouse, and when I plugged that in and booted the computer, it disabled the touchpad. My biggest problem is that even when I use a USB mouse, if I get my finger anywhere near the touch pad, the cursor moves to wherever I indicated on the touch pad, and this is EXTREMELY ANNOYING! GRRRrrrrrrrrr.....

I'm running KDE 4.2. It wants to upgrade to 4.24, and refuses to do so because of a dependency problem of some sort. I also want to run Opera instead of Mozilla, and it won't load that because of a ppp problem. Any suggestions on those?

click the k or the lacher menu and then click system settings then click mouse you will see it. ooops mandriva let me boot it it uses harddrake. hang on. mandriva is click the laucher mennu then click confugure your desktop then click key board mouse then select mouse selct single click.
