How do I do a software Powerdown/Standby in Mandriva 2009?

How do I do a software Powerdown/Standby/Suspend of my pc in Mandriva One 2009?
I am running AMD 64 X2 Athlon Dualcore 5600+ on an ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Motherboard with 2Gb and NVidia GeForce 8600 video card.
The System Board is set up for this and I have enabled ACPI and ACPI Suspend type S1 and S3.Note I have tried S1 only and S3 only too.
This would be a really useful implementation as I would save quite a lot of cash on stand-by - Environmentally Friendly too?

Have you got the app kpowersave installed?

Yes I have *Kpowersave* installed.
But it only appears as a battery monitor on my desktop.
