How do get my linux box to use my windows internet connection

hello there

I have two machines, one uses Windows Me and uses AOL to connect to the internet, the other has Mandrake 9.1 installed.

I am trying to get the linux box to use the internet connection on the windows machine.

How would I go about doing this?

any suggestions much appreicated.

thanks

Essentially, you want to enable internet connection sharing on the Windows box, connect to it with the cable from the Mandrake box and enable the connection through ME box and set up Mandrake to connect that way.

Reading the Help and Support information on the ME box under the topic of Internet Connection Sharing would be step by step information on setting up the ME box. Connecting to it from Mandrake would be straightforward. Use the wizard in configure your computer in Mandrake.

Hope this helps.

Ok,
what chfite said is:

- On you windoze you have to INSTALL Internet sharing ( is it a windows toos to share Internet connection) pretty simple to install. But you have to read on it especialy on the IP ADRESS required to make it work.

- AFTER this installation is done and you "have a little planet beside your clock" on the windows machine You will need to configure your Linux. All you need to know is how to start the installation setup :-) and the GATEWAY (wich will be you Windows ip adress)...

That should be it!

(BTW you windows has to be powered up in order to get Internet access on Lix)

BTW2 :-) I doubt that AOL stach would not support Internet sharing, BUT it might be a possibility :-(
