Help with Microcom InPorte Modem?
 

Hi everyone,

Mandrake 9.1
kernel 2.4.21_0.13mdk

Can anyone help me to setup my Microcom Inporte Home Modem (microcom.cz/en/index.asp?page=22&prod=7), it uses the agere(lucent) chipset.

I downloaded some compiled rpm's using the correct kernel version as my mandrake, but just cannot get it to work.

(linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/archive/mandrake/8.26a9/)


Using kppp after the rpm was installed I get the message that /dev/modem cannot be connected to.

Any help will be appreciated.

I do not have any personal experience, but did you check out the wiki pages at
