Help! Accidentally deleted the network monitor from the system tray!

I'm using Mdk 10.1 official. I accidentally removed the icon that tells you your network status (connected/disconnected) from the system tray in Gnome. How can I put it back? I don't know what this applet is called, and I also don't see it listed in the "add to panel" menu. Any ideas (I'd rather not do a clean install of Mdk)?

You can access the network monitor under Mandrake Control Center --> Network --> monitor network connections.

As for getting it back in your tray, I have no idea.

I did the same thing and this is how I fixed it in 2006.0

I was able to get it back by opening a terminal and typing

/usr/bin/net_applet --force &

when the icon appeared in the systray, I right clicked and selected settings->always launch at start up option.

It's been working for me.

I hope this helps

Bruce
