Has anyone gotten their ATI 4850 to function in Mandriva?
I just installed mandriva 2009 and I cannot get good graphics drivers installed for the life of me. When I booted up initially everything looked good but I couldn't get the visual effects enabled, it said my card wasn't good enough which means the good drivers aren't installed. So I went to ATI's webpage and downloaded and ran them. After I did this I was able to get into the catalyst control center but my display is very choppy. When I move windows around it doesn't move smoothly at all. I tried enabling visual effects after this and when I restarted my screen was white. What do I do to get these drivers installed? It seems like the drivers still aren't installed correctly. I noticed when I boot up there is a message that displays briefly that it is installing the FGLRX module but it fails. I can't get more specific because the message disappears quickly. What do I do? Is there an RPM for updated (or just recent) catalyst drivers?
