I do not use gyachi here, but it requests to install lib64ltdl3 (libltdl3 on an x86_32 system). Check that this package is properly installed, and also make sure you have the OpenSSL package(s) installed. I use the KDE Desktop here, and my IM client of choice is Kopete because it supports multiple IM protocols and I have friends who several (WLM, GoogleTalk, and ICQ).

The package (libltdl3) is in the i586 (x86_32) main media source (at least in the ftp mirrors on the Internet). If you have not set up the Internet Media Sources for use with urpmi (and the Mandriva Software Package Manager), I strongly suggest you do so. By setting up these sources, you will have access to the full range of software packaged for use with Mandriva Linux. If libltdl3 is not included on your installation CD (or DVD) disk, that may be why you ran into trouble with gyachi. The simplest method for setting up the Internet Software Media Sources is to start mcc (Tools > System Tools > Configure your computer in the menu system), then run the Configure Media Sources for Install and Update applet in the Software Management category (left). Click the ADD button (right), then in the pop-up dialog, select the Full Set of Sources button (bottom-right).

After adding the Internet Media Sources, install libltdl3 and see if that helps to fix your trouble.

Since your trouble is not with the dependencies. try removing your gyachi package(s), then open the file manager and (with show all files enabled) remove your gyachi folder (or configuration file). Now install gyachi again. If there is any thing from the 2009.0 gyachi configuration that is not compatible with the one for 2009,1, this may correct it for you . . .

If you need to do that, at least MDV 2009.0 now has KDE-4.2.x (just received the update notification within the past 24 hours).

I have not seen any updates regarding Gnome recently, so whatever 2009.0 had when you updated is probably still what you will get now (sorry).

If you choose to stick with 2009.1, you may be best served to check out the other IM clients that support the Yahoo IM protocol to see if any of them will work for you. In the Software Package Manager, look in Networking > Instant Messaging (left pane).

I am most sorry. I do not use gyachi here (or a web cam) so I am at a loss as to what may be causing your issue. Perhaps some one else who uses this combination can be of greater assistance. Best of luck with getting things to work as you want them to . . .

The trouble may not be Linux at all, but Yahoo changing their protocol. See this article from Matt Hartley (an Author on Lockergnome's Linux Fanatics News Letter).
