graphical login, how to use pictures?

i've installed mandriva 2006.

i want to change my login manager to the one used in 10.0, and the 9, 9.1, 9.2, i believe, the one where it shows a list of users, and you click on one of them, then it asks for the password.

(now, you must type in the username and password.)

any ideas?

You can still do that with 2006 & kdm. Just go into the kde control center (Configure your desktop), select "login manager" and click "Administrator Mode". The various tabs have everything you need.

You need to edit /usr/share/config/kdm/kdmrc and disable themeing by changing,
Code:

UseTheme=true
to
Code:

UseTheme=false
