Well, can't find anything on this forum or in the Errata, & haven't been able to find much in the logs either, so was wondering if anyone else was having trouble with Libvisual, specifically these 2 plugins?

GForce I noticed was broken on the last couple of editions, which is a shame. ProjectM now seems to have followed it, which is seriously gutting! Basically they don't get further than a blank window for a second before crashing.

System is now running 2009 Powerpack, but the same problem with both plugins was found with Free.

Just to add, Libvis is running alongside KDE3-Amarok-1.4

As it is I found a workaround by adding the Contrib repository for 2008.1 from EasyUrpmi & installing that version of ProjectM.

I'm sure there must be a way of doing it that does not involve backtracking like this, but my skills don't stretch that far. In the meantime I've got ProjectM back, & that's made me happy.

It's a shame GForce is now dead as it was a very sweet & pretty bit of software. Maybe one day.
