getting out of x!!
Hi, if you have set kde to start at boot, how do you log out to the command line?? there is no option when you log out!!
You need to do this to install nvidia drivers!! ps mdk 10 official |
Does ctrl-alt-backspace work?
|

If you are installing your nvidia drivers you want to be in single user mode.
ctrl-alt-f1 then type init 3. Typing init 5 will take you back to multiuser mode and start up your x server (kde). |
you can also hit Esc when your lilo boot prompt pops up. If you haven't been fiddling around with lilo.conf the default choice will be 'linux'. If you type 'linux' you boot normally (to runlevel 5, that is, with X). If you type 'linux 3' you boot to runlevel 3, that is, withOUT X.
Like MunterMan said, when you would like X up and running type 'init 5' as root. -- O rjust reboot normally (type 'reboot').. Good luck! kamstrup |
