ffmpeg amr support rpm !!!
Hi,
I'm very interesting in creating 3gp files (videos for mobile phones) with Mandrake 10.1 from avi and mpeg files. Doing some Googling, I found that ffmpeg with amr enabled is the only solution. Anyway, even if I followed instructions in the ffmpeg tarball, I didn't manage to have a working ffmpeg with amr in my Mandrake. But I discovered that for Debian systems, yes, there is a deb file from Marillat of ffmpeg with amr enabled. Is there something similar for Mandrake ? Or anyone has managed to create 3gp files under Linux ? If yes, could you tell me how ? Thanks, Fabio |
I'm not sure about amr but ffmpeg is packaged for Mandrake. First goto http://easyurpmi.zarb.org and setup access to all the repositories. Then go into the Mandrake Control Centre->Software->Install and install the ffmpeg package.

First of all, thank you a lot.
I've to say that even adding all the repositories ffmpeg comes with unsupported amr audio. For now, I installed vmware and Wndow$ inside my Linux box. Unfortunatelly I had to :( If I will find a solution, I will inform you. |
There is a compiled ffmpeg rpm with amr support for fedora core 5:
