Expert install in Mandrake 9.2?

I am multi-booting with windows XP.win '95and Mandrake 9.0
I want to put on Mandrake 9.2 for evaluation.
I am using the NTLoader

Is it possible to install using an Expert mode as in 9.0 as I want to create a boot disk on install and put LILO on the root partition,

My version of Mandrake 9.2 does not appear to have this manual feature, it all seems rather automatic !

Have I got an inferior copy?

Any ideas?

Thanks alot

Thames

Hi,

I am not sure exactly about what you want to do since I only have win xp and Mdk 9.2 on one disk. However, when you go through the installation, you can choose to use diskdrake and set the partitions as you wish. Also, during the installation, you can have a boot diskette made (although I think it is hidden in an advanced/basic option), and you are ask about where you want to put the bootloader. Don't know if this help...

Thanks for your reply Mishmash
My main point is that I don't want lilo to overwrite the MBR but put it on the root partition as I found when installing Mandrake 9.0 that this made xp unbootable. I don't want to risk a reinstall of XP as I have set it and changed it around to suit me.
The mandrake 9.2 installer seems to be less sophisticated than 9.0 - ie no coloured lights for each stage and no easy to choose Expert option for installing the boot loader
Which is why I ask; Have I an inferior installer version?
I am ok on creating my partions and configuring the NT BOOT LOADER with another Linux option.

Thanks

Thames
