you don't want to tell urpmi to look for a hdlist with local sources. there isn't one to begin with, so it will bomb when it tries to find it with that command. first try this......... (as root from terminal)
urpmi.addmedia updates file://home/updates/10.0/RPMS/ (enter)
if it bombs with that, then do it the GUI way. go to MCC->media manager. if it shows your local source in there, remove it, then click "add" choose "local source" , name it, either use "browse" to browse to the directory or type "file://home/updates/10.0/RPMS/" (without "quotes") in the path, & leave the path to hdlist button & line blank. click "ok".
