Hi there,
I have a problem with my USB ADSL modem hanging when trying to connect to internet after I updated my kernel to 2.6.11.13mdk.
The modem works fine with kernel 2.6.11.6mdk (which I can still use).
My question is if there are any reported issues related to my problem
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ad.php?t=67883
Low buffer usage in 2.4.21-0.13mdk custom kernel(I couldn't find any leads on various search engines), or am I doing something stupid?
I have tested the kernel and I can see the modem when it is connected to USB.
However, as I had an automatic call to eciadsl-start in "init.d" (to automatically connect to internet on boot (that worked on previous kernel), I noticed a "freezing" of the system after the kernel upgrade.
If the modem is not connected to USB on boot, everything is fine.
Then I connect the modem and I can see it on USB.
If I then launch eciadsl-start, the freeze comes, and I have to turn the machine off the button (unless there is a trick I am not aware of?)
I'd appreciate an answer to this problem
Thanks
Giuseppe
P.S. I use: Mandrake 10.2
D-Link DSL200 USB ADSL modem
AMD Athlon Processor (which is not recognised by both kernels)
e.g. "uname -r -p" gives -->"2.6.11-
xmdk unknown"
