how else can i add plf media to mandriva?
is mandriva really free ?
what do i get by paying $50 dollars and buying the mandriva powerpack?
(for $50 i m meaning the downloaded version).
I just went to the Easy Urpmi WEB site, and it appears to be available . . .
As with any Linux distribution, when you purchase Mandriva Powerpack, you are paying for technical support for one year. Linux distributors do not sell the software because it is open source (free). They sell support to generate profit. When you purchase the Powerpack edition, you also get access (for one year) to a repository containing proprietary software packaged for use with Mandriva Linux that Mandriva Free edition users can not access (or at least this was true for past releases). You also help to insure that Mandriva prospers and continues to develop the distribution.
Distribution: Debian Testing, Stable, Sid and Manjaro, Mageia 3, LMDE

HTH,
Thanks, I was wondering if the restricted repos were handled that way.
I use Debian based OS' mainly but I have Mandriva on a few partitions and like it quite a bit (Gnome). It is reall y the only RPM distro that I like and recommend to others.

there is something new in mandriva 2009.1 PowerPack : as they did before, they now provide a legal DVD player : the fluendo DVD player, and also the fluendo codecs.
