dvd+rw booktype

i am trying to change the booktype of my dvd+r to dvd-rom but i get this error

[root@localhost arm]# dvd+rw-booktype -dvd-rom -unit+r /dev/hdd
This program targets units of RICOH, BENQ, BTC and LITE-ON designs.
/dev/hdd doesn't appear to be one. Exiting.

but mandriva sees that the drive is a lite on and so does dvd+rw
does anyone know why this is giving me this error or how to fix it

[root@localhost arm]# dvd+rw-mediainfo /dev/hdd

the latest firmware for that drive is : http://www.liteonit.com.tw/ODD/Engli...del=SHOW-1673S

Make sure you're running the latest version of dvd+rw-tools, and apparently it can be flashed into a better piece of hardware - check here http://www.speedlabs.org/index.php/topic,198.0.html

To address the actual problem, the command looks right and a mate of mine is saying he can flash the firmware to bitset it automatically. Check www.speedlabs.org

Although my DVD drive is sitting besides me, i don't have my big linux box on me, so i can't check it... Sorry abut that
