Downloaded and installed Mandriva 3 CD Free...blue lines on white fields
I just installed the download copy of Mandriva, the 3 CD Edition, and on all white text input fields, or any field that's a plain white (for example, web pages), there are broken blue lines, running up and down the screen. They're spaced about a centimeter apart, side to side, but the breaks in the line are uneven.
Did I corrupt something when I burned the ISO or downloaded it? Help!
Just a guess but on a web page the lines on white would more probably point to the refresh rate or frequency of the monitor not being set right .Thats where I would look first
I had the same problem. I was looking into configuring my video driver, but I never really figured it out because I destroyed my Linux software in the process.
Sorry for no help, but I think video drivers might be the way to go anyways. I believe there is also a command xf86config (I hope that is right) that can configure monitor and display settings. I am very new to this as well though (about 2 weeks).
Juste a possibility : open a console (in order to read if there are error messages while the program runs), and then, as root, run "XFdrake" (mind the capitals), select AGAIN your video card, apply the results, and see if it changes something. if not, XFdrake, chose another monitor (if not yours, a generic one), apply. Is there still the problem ?
