deleted xinetd, need help restoring

Hey all,

Well, I seem to have gotten in over my head here. I was using the RPM manager to uninstall xine (the video program) and I seem to have also selected xinetd. (CRAP!) When it removed it, it also removed a bunch of "dependant" programs. So now I can only seem to boot up into iceWM (which I might add is nice and snappy, but I want KDE and gnome back).

I re-installed xinetd, but the dependant programs are gone, and I have no idea what they were. So my question is: is there an easy way for me to recover this... or is it re-install time...

Thanks,
Derek

I would be inclined to try an upgrade to see if it can pick up and replace the missing files before doing anything drastic.

the solution? Re-install

If anyone is looking for a solution to this problem... I never did find one. I goofed around for awhile re-installing various apps (mostly for my own education) but in the end I just re-installed. Good thing I keep up to date backups!
