Curious graphical error when installed on a Dell Dimension 4600 *please help!*
 

About 10 minutes ago, I did a clean install of Mandrake 10.1 (using the first 3 CD's) on my Dell Dimension 4600. When I rebooted after a seemingly sucessful install (Though I could not in any way use the graphical installer for some reason), selected Linux from the graphical blue screen which I can only assume is the LILO (In a Linux :newbie:, so I dont know what it is!), and what appeared next was a very horizontaly scrambled and duplicated mandrake logo. I could see the mouse pointer moving in amongst the lines, but could make out nothing else. What has happened, and how can this be rectified?

Question: What is the type of laptop screen that you have is it a normal ratio or widescreen? And second what graphics adapter does your laptop use?

It's a desktop PC, and it has an Intel 82865G graphics thingumywidget.

I also have Kubuntu installed, and other than the fact that the resolution wont go any higher than 640x800 it works fine
