CTRL+ALT+F* Terminals don't work

Hello,

I just upgraded to 2006 and when I press CTRL+ALT+F* to go to a terminal I can't see what I am typing because the terminal has strange colors all around, just like if my resolutuon was higher then what the Monitor can support.

This is very strange because X works normally with my ~1024x800 resolution. The startup screen appears normal, but the shutdown screen is also screwed up.

I tryed changing monitor refresh rate / reconfiguring the monitor to no vail.

thanks,

1. Please post the Hardware config of your computer.
2. What video drivers are installed?

1. Pentium 4 - 3,2 Mhz dual core
Motherboard Intel 915 GEV
512 MB RAM
LG Flatron T170SH monitor

My monitor is configured for a generic monitor because I couldn't find T170SH on the LG list.

2. Only one, the 915 GEV OnBoard Video Card
