Conflicting sound devices

So I finally got Linux running good, got some games installed, and am pretty close to my ultimate goal: Dumping windows. Still got some minor kinks though like this:

I play Counter-Strike with a USB headset mic (the Logitech one that came with the first generation SOCOM U.S. Navey Seals game to be precise) however I had unplugged it for Hotplug to detect everything when I plug it in while the system is on. When I remembered I had it unplugged, and of course plugged it back in, only the problem is that the sound no longer comes through the speakers connected through my sound card (SB Live! Value), it's coming through the little squeeky earphone on the headset. The only way I can seem to correct this problem is to remove the headset... I still want to use my mic when I'm online, but I also want to keep my sounds coming through my sound card... Is there a way to fix this -without- pulling the plug on my mic?
