I cannot compile anything in Mandrake, everytime I install something I need to install somethingelse and so on and so on, and then I get to a point where i cannot install anything else and i am still missing something,
and when I want to urpmi something it tells me to Instert CD 4
when I want to urpmi something it tells me to Instert CD 4
If you have a fast internet connection you can get around this by using ftp sources instead of your CDs. The best way to do this is go to www.urpmi.org/easyurpmi and follow the directions. Remember to do the urpmi.removemedia -a step first.

I know you're not going to believe this, but that's NORMAL ! People who've used linux for a while get good at determining what the dependencies are and taking care of these problems. You can minimize the problem by remembering to check the development box when you do your install. Something very similar happens if you use rpm and not urpmi to avoid compiling.
Sure, I'd be more than happy if you would , and I will tell you if my MKD works fine with www.urpmi.org/easyurpmi, just in case I've downloaded the NavyOS
