configure: error: no acceptable cc found in $PATH


how do i resolve this issue during ./configure ?

type 'which gcc'

if nothing is found, you need to install gcc..

Use rpmdrake (Menu / Configuration / Packages / Install Software)
Search for gcc and install it, it comes on one of the Mandrake CDRom.
BTW, if the program you're trying to compile is already available as an RPM, just use it : it will be more suited to your system.
