I'm trying to get my modem to work. I've only been on linu for a week and a half so any instructions should be explained. It's a conexant modem. Windows says it's connected to COM4, but madrake isn't recognizing it. Any ideas?
This is a winmodem and harder to configure under linux, but it is generally possible to get working. Check out this site http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/
microsoft/linux; accept bluenoser`s tip & carefully choose which version u need, there are (2)two hsf(which is softmodem) &
hcf (controllerless modem). it will make a difference. but they will help make ur modem work.
microsoft/linux; most drivers are downloaded or on a floppy(that is where
charge is) but minimal. as bluenoser indicated http://www.linuxant.com/drivers
just (with care) choose correct driver for
your modem. that site also helps identify
modem at start of site.
