Changing the visual theme

Unfortunately for me, I got an SIS video card (SiS650 to be more exact) which prevents me from using the amazing 3D environment provided by Mandriva.

The un-3D look is quite boring, I wonder if someone knows how to change the visual theme to something more appealing.

thx.

I presume you are using KDE?

this is a good place to start http://www.kde-look.org/

you should be able to get just as good looks without compiz/beryl..
just not the "fancy" rotating cube/ wobbly windows etc.

I assume I using gnome since any Kde application I run produces errors.

How can I be sure ?
And if I use gnome where can I look for themes ?

thx.
