Changing the login screen

Well from the title it may seem an easy assignment but here is the thing:
I running mandrake 10.1 OE using KDE (yes no gnome) but I want to use a gnome based login screen!
that I downloaded from gnome.org
how can I do that?
I tried installing gnome control center usig urpmi but it doesnt work
Code:

[root@localhost faza]# gnome-control-center
gnome-control-center: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libgnome-menu.so.0: undefined symbol:
g_get_user_config_dir

any ideas?

first of all i think u have to install The gdm package which is the gnome display manager . u can just type :

#urpmi gdm

at the command prompt to install it . or use rpm drake to install it
then u have to change the default display manager which is mkdm (mandrake customised) to gdm
then when u restart ur system it should be using the gnome display manager
