I want to change the login manager to KDM from MDM (Mandrake Display Manager...which i assume is the default one that comes with mandriva). There does not seem to be any graphical option in MDM (Control Center-> System Administration-> Login manager to install new login themes as opposed to KDM Theme manager (which i also have installed , under Control Center--> System Administration-> KDM Theme Manager ....but any changes here do not work).
What i wish to achieve is to have a nice login screen where i can select the user names and then provide passwords like in windows XP.
I have found and downloaded some theme (for KDM) but dont know how to change from MDM to KDM.
ALso, does any one has an idea how to install new themes in MDM(i am assuming its MDM not KDM) (How come mandriva not have a proper graphical tool for this...)
Thnx
PS. by the way the entry in /etc/Sysconfig/Desktop says
When you install you ae asked which display manager you want
What did you choose?
What version are you running
Open a terminal and type " kde" what happens?
Open a terminal and type " kdm" what happens?
Right at the start you have a menu to choose between gnome and KDE and others what happens on yours ,have you tried to choose others?
Open 'MCC / System / Choose the display manager that enables to select which user to log in'. If you have more than one display manager installed, you can choose which one to use here.
