Got a question,
Installed KDE 3.4 and now I can't log in to KDE using the mandrake x server, so I switched to KDE, however now all I get is a screen for a user name and password. How do you make it to where KDE control center has control over what is on the log in screen. I have changed it in the log in in the control center, but it has no effect.
Thanks
Your question is quite confusing. Can you be more precise about your problem, because if you see a login section asking you for a username and password, thats what a login manager should do.
KDE Control Center offers more options for what is included in your log in screen. I am trying to set up some linux computers to use in our school. If I leave it as the Mandrake log in screen I get over 1200 user names to pick from because we are authenticating against a windows 2003 server active domain. If I turn the Mandrake off and try to use just KDE then we are shown just a place for user name and password, but it will not authenticate against the AD then.
Thanks for the help!
I get what you mean now. Try checking the Mandrake Control Center and see if it has the option of disabling login images in the display manager settings. Unfortunately I don't use Mandrake these days so can't give you precise details.
