Change display resolution WITH NO SCREEN VISIBLE!
I've have just installed Mandrake 10.1 Official version on an old computer.
It boots directly into the KDE Desktop without any login prompts, etc.
I recently changed my display resolution to a higher one, can't remember which, and my monitor (a Dell 17" LCD) display goes completely scrambled - I cannot see anything on the screen which would enable me to change back to the old resolution. I have since switched the computer off, and I have no other monitors I can temporarily plug in to fix the problem.
Does anyone know a list of keyboard shortcuts that I can perform to change the display resolution without needing to see a screen at all ?
Or how can I call up a command prompt when booting the computer so that I can change it?
I am a complete newbie to Linux, with no knowledge of its commands or architecture. Looking to learn a lot though!
