Unhappy cant play DVDs!!!!!


i installed a mandrake 9.2 on my laptop. the sound is bearable but i cant play DVds on my laptop. although i can play VCDs/ it says i/o video error or something like with totem media player and also libdvdcss in xine player. m player says something i/o error too. what cud be wrong?

look if you have this libdvdcss-1.2.8-1 and this libdvdcss-delevel-1.2.8-1. If you haven't got them go to: http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/xine/

Do you mean the ones with network in the file name. I cannot find the non network one's in the xine page?

There's some sort of legality issue with dvd's. I guess there's a patent on the software to read them or something. There are patches like the ones mentioned above, but you can't distribute them with your linux package without paying beauquo bux to some legal nazi.

yes i mean de network packages. If you read de docuemtation above there's a reference of all the files
