Can't get write permission to dvd-ram disk

I am using Mandriva 2007.1 Spring with Gnome desktop. I tried many way to get my dvd-ram disk to work, but it always showed up that I don't have permission to write even under root condition. Is there anyway to get the writing permission?

You can't just write to a DVD-RAM disk - you need a special application like K3B or XCDroast...

To use a DVD-RAM disc you need to create a filesystem on it, and mount it somewhere in the filesystem. Once you do that, you can use the disc like an enormous floppy. If you want normal users to be able to mount the DVD-RAM disc, you should include the 'user' or 'users' option on the fstab line.

This is true for CD-R(W) and DVD-R(W), DVD-RAM is a different beast...
