cannot show the traditional Chinese names on a ftp client

Kbear(a ftp client in KDE) cannot correctly show the traditional Chinese names of the directory and file, and neither can Konqueror as a ftp client. The characters appear as small rectangles on screen.
Although gftp can correctly show the traditional Chinese names of the directory, I cannot access them because it says no such directory or files. But these files do exist. Why does this confusing problem occur and how to solve it?
Any help would be grateful.

the problem is probably due to coding mismatch. The site codes the filenames using one coding, konqueror thinks it's something else. Have you tried changing the character coding in Konqueror under View-> set encoding? I'm not sure you'll get this option when browsing an ftp site though. You could also try under Settings->configure konqueror->Fonts.
How does mozilla handle the sites?

I've done the way you referred, quatsch, but it failed.
This ftp site doesn't allow anonymous mode, so I don't know how to access it by mozilla because mozilla says '530 sorry, no anonymous access allowed.'

Does mozilla accept the following format:
ftp://username:password@ftp.blach.com
basically, you put username:password@ in front of the url of the ftp server. it might work in mozilla.
