Ok,
I am having some problems getting Flash to install.
First here is a little history of what I have done. Originally, I un-installed Mozilla 1.4 via the software configuration tool in Mandrake. I then installed Mozilla 1.6 in my "/home" directory. I didn't like the fonts I was getting with 1.6, so I deleted the 1.6 Mozilla folder and then re-installed Mozilla 1.4 via the software configuration tool. Everything installed fine, but I cannot get Flash to install. I am not sure if what I have done previously is causing the problem or not.
I do a "locate mozilla" in konsole and get that it is installed under "/usr/lib/mozilla-1.4".
I have tried to manually copy over the plugin files that come in the flash folder over into the plugins folder under "/usr/lib/mozill-1.4" but when I go into Mozilla and look in the "about plugins" no flashplayer is showing up. I have also opened up the file protections on the mozilla folder and all subsequent files/folders underneath it.
Any idea where to go from here?

doesn't the flashplayer have it's own installer? iirc, you have to shut down your browser and then run the flash installer.sh file.
for decent fonts, use an XFT enabled version of mozilla. there's a web site somewhere that has the latest ones -- i got 1.6 there -- sorry though, i don't have the link handy. you might find it on google or searching LQ.
Yes, there is an installer. I tried that first. I got no errors and it seemed as if Flash installed correctly until I checked in the plugins section of Mozilla and saw that it didn't. After that didn't work is when I then tried to manually copy the necessary files over.

There is a dependency that you need I'll check and see if I can find it. Or you could set up your media sources and the dependency will download itself.
Here is a how to:
what's your distro, btw? it's a good idea to put what flavor of linux you're using in your profile so people can have that info when you post with a problem.
*** edit *** forget the 4a. option unless you are a mandrakeclub member -- sorry, i've downloaded stuff with that interface before and didn't notice that one was mandrakeclub
4a. ......................

i don't have a lot of experience w/RPM because i use slack and prefer to do everything from source as much as possible. but i'll try to help you through it as best i can. it seems to me the best way is to start from scratch so you will at least have the 1.6 version of mozilla. and if you run into compiling problems we'll try to fix them, or else move to trying mandrake rpms.
