[LEFT]I install linux recently with MANDRIVA 2006 (ADSL 512K, MODEM sagem 800, WANADOO). It is impossible to obtain an internet connection. Do you have a solution before I fall in serious nervous breakdown .
Thanks a lot[/L EFT]
I also installed Mandriva 2006 with identical results. "adsl-start" makes a connection but Mozilla Firefox refuses to connect as does SKYPE. "adsl-stop does
function and reading the files pppoe.conf, pap-secrets, or chap-secrets appear to be correct. If I install Mandrake 10.1 the internet connection is OK and if I update to Mandriva 2006 it also works. Only on a clean install will it not work. Would like any suggestions as to what else to check after adsl on pppoe starts. It will ping
the HOST on 127.0.0.0 but that is all. Thanks in advance.

As a follow-up of my previous message re: no internet connection. My solution is as
follows. First wipe the hard disk clean using Partition Magic and then use a clean
install of the 4 disks of Mandriva 2006 Powerpack. On the first try it worked and
there is no problem with any file. The distro does what it says it does "WORK".
Good luck to all having a problem.
