Angry Can't install.. patch.pl not working either

Hello everyone,

Spend 5 hrs to try to get 9.2 installed. Kept looping and saying no base system. So got the patch.pl because of what seems a K-6 II problem as well.

So.. first F1.. typed patch.. [without a:\ duh] and got back a failure in memory.

2nd attempt.. a:\patch.. got stuck at loading into memory.. error says trying to load runinstall2 etc. - Fatal error at stage one - IO Error.

Oh.. CD keeps whining like someone stepping on the gas constantly.

Have a AMD K-6 II 333.. 380 Ram - 1 6.2 Gig HD and 1 40 Gig with own controller. Linux formatted it into a \, swap and a \home. 10 gig total and last drive.

CD is norcent I think.. pretty new.. 54-24-54. MB uses SIS 530.

Any ideas why it doesn't even get to the program part now??

Thanks..

Michael
